EMDR Counseling
Have you been through a painful or overwhelming experience that still feels “stuck” inside you—like no matter how much time passes, it continues to affect your emotions, your body, and the way you live your life?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a powerful, evidence-based therapy designed to help the brain heal from trauma and distressing memories. Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR uses gentle, structured techniques such as eye movements, tapping, or sound to help your brain reprocess memories so they no longer feel overwhelming.
How EMDR Works
When we go through trauma or repeated distress, our brains sometimes struggle to process the experience fully, leaving us with lingering symptoms like anxiety, intrusive thoughts, emotional triggers, or even physical tension. EMDR helps “unstick” these memories so they can be stored in a healthier way. The event is not erased, but the emotional charge around it is reduced, allowing you to think about it without being re-triggered.
What EMDR Helps With
EMDR can be effective for a wide range of struggles, including:
Trauma and PTSD
Anxiety and panic
Phobias
Grief and loss
Chronic stress
Negative self-beliefs (“I’m not enough,” “I’m unsafe”)
Disturbing memories that still feel fresh, even years later
How I Can Help
In our work together, I will guide you through EMDR in a safe, supportive, and paced way that feels manageable for you. I’ll help you:
Identify the memories or beliefs that are causing you distress
Use EMDR techniques to gently reprocess these experiences
Build new, healthier beliefs about yourself and your world
Gain freedom from the emotional weight of the past so you can move forward with more peace and confidence
Many clients find EMDR to be incredibly freeing and transformative, often noticing real shifts in just a few sessions. My role is to create a safe space where you feel supported, understood, and empowered as you heal.
If you’ve been carrying pain or fear for too long, EMDR can help you finally let it go—and I’d be honored to walk that path of healing with you.
