FAQs
General Counseling FAQs
What can I expect in my first session?
In our first meeting, we’ll get to know each other and talk about what brings you to therapy. You don’t need to have the “perfect words” — just come as you are. It’s a chance for you to share what’s going on and see if I feel like the right fit for you.
How long will I need therapy?
Everyone’s journey is unique. Some people find clarity after a few sessions, while others value longer-term support. We’ll work together to figure out what feels right for your goals and growth.
Do you see people in person or online?
Yes, I offer both in-person sessions and secure online therapy. You can choose what works best for your lifestyle and comfort.
How often do sessions happen?
Most clients begin with weekly sessions. As progress builds, some shift to every other week or as needed. We’ll adjust based on your needs.
Individual Counseling FAQs
What kinds of issues do you help with?
I help people who are struggling with anxiety, trauma, disordered eating, and the everyday stresses that feel overwhelming. Therapy can give you tools for managing the present while also helping you heal the root causes beneath the surface.
How do you work with trauma?
I use evidence-based approaches like EMDR and IFS, which help you process painful experiences safely and effectively — without needing to rehash every detail.
Can therapy really help with anxiety?
Yes. Together, we’ll work on both coping strategies for immediate relief and deeper healing so you feel more calm, confident, and in control of your life.
Couples Counseling FAQs
Is couples therapy only for couples in crisis?
Not at all. Many couples come to strengthen their bond, improve communication, or reconnect before small struggles become bigger ones.
What if my partner doesn’t want to come?
It’s common for one partner to feel unsure. In our sessions, I create a safe space where both of you can feel heard and understood — without blame or judgment.
How does EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) work?
EFT helps couples notice and shift negative cycles, express emotions more openly, and build trust and closeness. It’s one of the most effective, research-backed methods for couples.
How long does couples therapy take?
Every couple is different. Some notice changes within a few sessions, while others stay longer to deepen trust and rebuild connection.
Fees, Insurance & Scheduling
What are your fees?
My session fees range between $225-$330, depending on a few factors. I’ll be transparent about costs from the start, and we’ll talk about what works best for you.
Do you take insurance?
I am an out-of-network provider, which means you may be able to use your insurance benefits depending on your plan. I can provide you with a superbill to submit for potential reimbursement.
